Why We No Longer Stock the Electrolux EQE5657BA – A Cautionary Review
At Installed Today, we only stand behind products that deliver performance, reliability, and after-sales support that our customers can count on. Unfortunately, the Electrolux EQE5657BA French Door Fridge has failed to meet even the most basic expectations—and here’s why we’ve pulled it from our online store.
Electrolux EQE5657BA Breakdown After 18 Months
Purchased in November 2023 as part of a premium kitchen package, the Electrolux EQE5657BA initially seemed like a solid choice. But in May 2025, just 18 months later, it completely failed.
The freezer stopped working while the owners were away, and they returned to find everything inside spoiled—meat, groceries, frozen meals. All had to be thrown away.
Poor Service Response & Zero Urgency
-
Service booked on May 20, 2025.
-
Initial technician took over a week to attend.
-
A replacement part was ordered—didn’t fix the issue.
-
A second part arrived two weeks later—again, no fix.
-
After 4.5 weeks, still no working fridge.
In the meantime, the household had to shop for food daily, wasting hours in travel and planning, all because they couldn't rely on basic refrigeration.
Electrolux’s “Resolution” Falls Short
On June 19, Electrolux offered a $1,994 credit—the original purchase price.
However, the current model (EQE5657BA) is now $2,849, meaning the customer would need to pay $855 extra to replace a product that failed prematurely.
The discounted pricing was part of a multi-appliance order in 2023—but Electrolux refused to honour this loyalty or offer a true replacement. This decision came via Victoria from Electrolux Customer Care.
Installed Today’s Commitment to Our Customers
Due to this experience and several similar complaints, Installed Today has made the decision to remove all Electrolux Group products, including:
-
Electrolux
-
Westinghouse
-
Chef cooking appliances
We will no longer sell or support these brands in our store. Our customers deserve fast resolutions, reliable appliances, and fair treatment when things go wrong.
Final Thoughts
If you're considering buying the Electrolux EQE5657BA, we strongly recommend looking elsewhere. When a fridge fails in under two years and the brand refuses to make it right without passing costs back to the customer, that's a product we can't recommend or sell in good faith.
