This installation package covers the professional labour required to replace your existing electric storage hot water system with your purchased replacement cylinder, subject to the plumbing, electrical supply, installation location and access meeting the standard package requirements.
The standard service is based on a ground-floor external replacement in the same general location. Required valves, additional fittings, extra pipework, electrical alterations, support bases and other upgrade items are purchased separately where needed.
Where the existing electrical connection remains suitable for the new electric storage water heater, applicable disconnect and reconnect can form part of the installation. If the circuit rating, wiring, connection type or cable route needs to change, the relevant electrical upgrade must be purchased separately.
If a matching valve kit is added to the order, the package includes up to 2 metres of associated pipework installed as part of fitting the purchased valve kit.

What Is Included When You Purchase a Valve Kit?
Where the matching valve kit is purchased with the installation, the installer fits the purchased valves and includes up to 2 metres of associated pipework installed.
This can accommodate ordinary connection differences between the old and new cylinders and provides a defined allowance for fitting the purchased valve arrangement.
The 2m allowance is not a relocation allowance. Major rerouting, long pipe runs, concealed plumbing work and moving the cylinder to another area remain outside the standard package.

When Is Electrical Disconnect and Reconnect Included?
The standard package can include applicable disconnect and reconnect where the existing electrical arrangement remains suitable for the new electric storage water heater.
This generally means the replacement appliance uses an electrical arrangement compatible with the existing circuit, cable and connection point.
The existing wiring must also reach the new appliance's required electrical termination point when the cylinder is installed in its correct orientation.
Disconnect and reconnect does not include modifying the electrical installation. Extending wiring, changing circuit capacity, installing a new circuit, altering the switchboard or changing the connection arrangement requires the applicable electrical package.
RESTRICTED ELECTRICAL WORK
Can a Restricted Electrical Licence Cover the Reconnection?
Queensland restricted electrical work licences can authorise specific electrical work that is incidental to another trade, including certain work performed by plumbers working on hot water systems.
The licence holder can only perform the electrical work expressly authorised by the restrictions and conditions on that individual licence.

The prepaid $300 two-person handling and difficult-access fee applies where additional labour is required because of conditions such as:

Yes. The installation labour includes disconnecting the existing water heater and removing it from its installed position.
