Whole Home Water Filter Installation – Wall Mounted or Freestanding
This installation service is for customers who have already purchased a whole home water filtration system and need it professionally mounted and connected to the incoming water supply.
Choose from four installation options depending on whether the filtration system will be wall mounted or freestanding and whether the incoming water main is already visible and accessible.
The installation price covers the labour and standard mounting work described for the option selected. Freestanding options also include the support frame and concreted supports described below.
Valve kits, isolation valves, pressure-limiting valves, connection kits and other accessories are sold separately unless specifically stated otherwise.
Which option should you choose? If the incoming main is clearly visible and accessible, select one of the standard visible-main options. If the main or suitable connection point needs to be located first, select one of the non-accessible-main options. Then choose wall mounted or freestanding based on how the filtration system will be supported.

Choose this option where the incoming water line is already clearly visible and accessible and the filtration system can be securely fixed to a suitable wall.

Freestanding – Main Visible & Accessible
Choose this option where the incoming water line is clearly visible and accessible but the filtration system needs to be installed on a freestanding support rather than fixed to a wall.

- Standard connection to visible and accessible pipework
- Labour to install separately purchased compatible accessories

Wall Mounted – Main or Pipework Not Accessible
Choose this option where the filtration system can be wall mounted but the incoming water main or suitable connection point is not clearly visible or immediately accessible.

- Wall mounting of the purchased filtration system
- Standard investigative work to locate incoming pipework
- Identification of a suitable accessible connection point where possible
- Standard connection once the suitable pipework is located
- Labour to install separately purchased compatible accessories
Standard locating work only. Major excavation, concrete removal, substantial pipe rerouting, long pipe runs or non-standard plumbing alterations are not included.

Freestanding – Main or Pipework Not Accessible
Choose this option where the filtration system needs a freestanding support frame and the incoming water main or suitable pipework is not clearly visible or readily accessible.

- Standard connection once a suitable point is located

WALL MOUNTING
When Should You Choose Wall-Mounted Installation?
Choose a wall-mounted option where the proposed installation position has a suitable wall surface capable of safely supporting the purchased filtration system and allowing the mounting hardware to be securely fixed.
The location should also allow enough space around the filter system for future cartridge replacement, servicing and operation of any isolation or bypass valves included in the separately purchased plumbing kit.
If the wall is unsuitable for secure mounting, a freestanding installation may be required instead.
FREESTANDING INSTALLATION
What Is Included With a Freestanding Installation?
The freestanding installation options include a support frame and concreted supports so the purchased filtration system can be securely mounted where suitable wall mounting is unavailable or inappropriate.
The frame is supplied as part of the applicable freestanding installation option and installed at the selected filtration location, subject to suitable ground conditions and access.
The filtration system is then secured to the frame and connected to the suitable water-main location according to the selected visible-main or non-accessible-main option.
Major civil or landscaping work is not included. Removal of large structures, substantial slabs, retaining walls, extensive paving or other significant site preparation requires separate approval.
VISIBLE VS HIDDEN MAINS
What Does “Main Not Accessible” Mean?
Select a non-accessible-main option where the incoming supply pipe or suitable connection point cannot be clearly identified and accessed before installation.
This allows for a reasonable amount of standard investigative work to identify the most suitable accessible section of incoming pipework where possible.
It does not provide unlimited excavation or exploratory work.
Visible & Accessible Main
The incoming pipe is already identifiable, exposed and accessible enough for normal plumbing work to begin without locating or excavation work.
Main Not Accessible
The connection point requires reasonable locating or investigation before the filtration system can be connected.

VALVES & ACCESSORIES
Are Valve Kits Included in the Installation Price?
No. Unless specifically stated otherwise, the installation price does not include the supply of valve kits, isolation valves, pressure-limiting valves, connection kits or other filtration accessories.
If your selected filtration system requires these components, they need to be purchased separately.
Where the required compatible accessories have been purchased with the installation, the normal labour to install them can be included within the selected installation scope.
Check the system requirements before booking. A whole home filtration system may require specific isolation, bypass, pressure-control or connection components depending on the product and property.
PRESSURE LIMITING
Is a Pressure-Limiting Valve Always Included?
No. A pressure-limiting valve is a separate component unless specifically included with the filtration system or selected installation package.
Whether pressure limitation is required depends on the filtration system's manufacturer requirements, the property water pressure and the plumbing arrangement.
If a pressure-limiting valve is required and is not already included with the product, it must be purchased separately.

What Access Is Required for Installation?
Standard installation pricing assumes the filter system and installation position can be safely accessed under normal working conditions.
A pre-paid $300 two-person team fee may apply where the site requires additional handling or access support.

- Tight side access
- Difficult lifting
- Awkward positioning

- Areas requiring additional handling assistance
The two-person fee does not automatically cover specialist access. Sites requiring cranes, major lifting equipment, significant excavation or other non-standard access may need separate assessment and pricing.

What Condition Must the Existing Pipework Be In?
The installation price assumes the existing plumbing involved in the installation is serviceable enough for the selected work to proceed.
Repairs to pre-existing defects are outside the standard installation scope.
Additional work can be required if the installer discovers:

QUEENSLAND COMPLIANCE
Does Whole Home Filter Installation Require a QBCC Form 4?
The compliance requirement depends on the actual plumbing work carried out at the property.
In Queensland, regulated plumbing work is divided into permit work, notifiable work and minor work. Where the filtration installation involves work that is classified as notifiable work, the licensed plumbing contractor must register the work with the QBCC using the applicable Form 4 process.
Where the completed scope is minor work or another regulatory category, a Form 4 may not apply.
The relevant compliance process is therefore determined by the actual installation work rather than the product name alone.
Form 4 is included where it is legally required for the completed installation scope. It should not be assumed that every whole home filtration installation automatically requires the same plumbing notification.
