AquaMAX 315L Electric Hot Water System – 991315G7 & 991315G8
The AquaMAX 315L Electric Hot Water System is a large mains-pressure electric storage water heater designed for households with substantial daily hot-water demand.
The current single-element range includes the 991315G7 with a 3.6kW element and 991315G8 with a 4.8kW element. AquaMAX publishes 315 litres of hot-water delivery, while its electric range brochure lists approximately 325 litres of physical storage capacity.
Installed Today offers the AquaMAX 315L as a supply-only water heater or with supply and installation across eligible Brisbane and Gold Coast service areas.
About the AquaMAX 315L VE Electric Water Heater
The AquaMAX 315L forms part of the manufacturer's vitreous-enamel electric storage range. It stores electrically heated water ready for household use and is designed as a conventional mains-pressure storage system.
AquaMAX describes the 315L as suitable for medium to large families with a high demand for hot water. Its dual-handed hot and cold water connections can also make compatible replacement installations more flexible.
This page covers the 991315 single-element models. AquaMAX separately offers 992315 twin-element models for installations requiring an upper boost element.
Who Is the AquaMAX 315L Best For?
Medium to Large Households
The 315L model provides substantial stored hot water for households with higher daily demand, subject to shower duration, fixture flow, appliances and tariff.
Large Electric Replacements
The AquaMAX 315L can suit replacement of a compatible larger electric storage system where the existing location, plumbing and electrical supply remain suitable.
Indoor or Outdoor Sites
AquaMAX specifies the 315L VE range for either indoor or outdoor installation when the site complies with the manufacturer's installation requirements.
AquaMAX 315L Key Details
*AquaMAX's current Owner's Guide specifies Year 1 coverage on all components for all installations. For a qualifying single-family domestic dwelling, the cylinder receives replacement-cylinder coverage from Years 2–10, with installation and repair labour after Year 1 being the owner's responsibility.

Yes, but the twin-element version is a separate model family.
991315 – Single Element
The 991315G7 and 991315G8 models covered on this page use one lower heating element.
992315 – Twin Element
AquaMAX separately lists 992315G7 and 992315G8 twin-element models with a published 50L boost capacity.
Do not assume a 991315 single-element unit can provide the twin-element boost function. Confirm the exact model before ordering.
How Many People Is the AquaMAX 315L Suitable For?
AquaMAX's current product page publishes a maximum guide of up to 9 people and references seven-minute showers at 42°C mixed-water temperature in a moderate climate.
The manufacturer's current web page contains different tariff wording between its feature callout and specification table, so the 9-person figure should be treated as a manufacturer sizing guide rather than a guarantee for every tariff arrangement.
Actual suitability depends on shower duration, water-saving fixtures, baths, appliance use, climate and how many hours per day electricity is available for reheating.
Continuous Supply
Power is available throughout the day, allowing the heater to recover as hot water is used.
Extended Off-Peak
A longer controlled heating window may suit some households, depending on electricity-provider arrangements and daily demand.
Overnight Off-Peak
Heating is restricted to set hours, so the stored volume needs to cover demand until power becomes available again.
Key Features of the AquaMAX 315L
Vitreous Enamel Cylinder
The steel storage cylinder is internally lined with vitreous enamel as part of the tank's corrosion-protection system.
Sacrificial Anode
A colour-coded sacrificial anode provides additional cylinder protection and must suit the property's water chemistry.
Dual-Handed Water Connections
The hot and cold water connections can be made from either side of the cylinder for compatible replacement installations.
Mains-Pressure Hot Water
AquaMAX identifies its VE electric range as mains-pressure storage water heaters for conventional household hot-water delivery.
Indoor or Outdoor Installation
The current 160L–400L Owner's Guide lists the 315L models as suitable for indoor or outdoor installation.
IP24 Protection Rating
AquaMAX's current electric range brochure publishes an IP24 protection rating for the 315L VE range.

Can the AquaMAX 315L Be Installed Indoors or Outdoors?
Yes. AquaMAX specifies the 315L VE electric water heater as suitable for indoor or outdoor installation.
The water heater must be installed by a qualified person and on a suitable supporting surface. It must also remain accessible for servicing.
Where leakage could cause property damage, AquaMAX requires the water heater to be installed in a compliant safe tray with appropriate drainage.
What Is Required to Install the AquaMAX 315L?
AquaMAX states that the water heater must be installed and serviced by a qualified person and in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and applicable plumbing and electrical requirements.
- Suitable supporting surface and installation position
- Compatible Rp 3/4 hot and cold water plumbing
- 1000 kPa temperature-pressure relief valve
- 850 kPa expansion-control valve where required
- Pressure-limiting valve where supply pressure exceeds permitted limits
- Isolation and non-return valve arrangement
- Compliant relief-valve drainage
- Safe tray and drainage where leakage could cause property damage
- Suitable delivery-temperature control where required
- 220–240V AC, 50Hz electrical supply
- Electrical circuit suitable for the selected 3.6kW or 4.8kW element
- Permanent electrical connection by a qualified person
- Switchboard isolation in accordance with applicable Wiring Rules
- RCD and additional isolation where required by the applicable installation rules
- Access for thermostat, heating element, valves and sacrificial anode
- Installation compliant with AS/NZS 3500.4 and AS/NZS 3000
AquaMAX 315L Water Pressure Requirements
AquaMAX specifies a 1000 kPa temperature-pressure relief valve for the 315L water heater.
Where an expansion-control valve is fitted, the specified ECV setting is 850 kPa and the maximum mains supply pressure is 680 kPa.
Without an ECV, AquaMAX publishes a maximum mains supply pressure of 800 kPa. An approved pressure-limiting valve is required where incoming supply pressure exceeds the applicable limit.
Left or Right-Hand Plumbing Connections
The 315L AquaMAX uses dual-handed hot and cold water connections, allowing those connections to be made from either side of the cylinder.
AquaMAX supplies plugs for the unused hot and cold connections.
The current Owner's Guide specifies that the TPR-valve fitting is on the left-hand side, so dual-handed hot and cold connections should not be interpreted as a dual-sided relief-valve connection.
Continuous, Extended Off-Peak or Off-Peak Power
AquaMAX states that a single-element electric water heater may be connected to off-peak, extended off-peak or continuous electricity, depending on the water-heater size and household requirements.
With overnight off-peak electricity, the heater can only reheat during the electricity provider's controlled heating hours. The tank therefore needs to store enough hot water for use between heating periods.
A continuous supply allows reheating throughout the day but may use a different electricity tariff. Confirm the available tariff and required storage capacity before installation.
Stored Water Temperature
AquaMAX's current Owner's Guide specifies a thermostat adjustment range of 60°C to 70°C, with a factory setting of approximately 70°C.
Thermostat adjustment must be completed with the electrical supply safely isolated and by an appropriately qualified person.
Because stored water at these temperatures can cause severe scalding, suitable delivery-temperature control may be required for bathrooms and other personal-hygiene outlets.
Vitreous Enamel Cylinder & Anode Selection
The AquaMAX 315L uses a vitreous-enamel-lined cylinder together with a sacrificial anode.
AquaMAX's current Owner's Guide states that cylinder warranty coverage depends on the water supply remaining within the manufacturer's limits and the correct colour-coded anode being fitted for the water chemistry.
The manufacturer specifies that the Total Dissolved Solids content must remain below 2500 mg/L for cylinder warranty coverage, together with correct anode selection.
AquaMAX 315L Maintenance
Every 6 Months
AquaMAX recommends gently operating the temperature-pressure relief-valve easing lever and the expansion-control valve easing lever where one is fitted, and checking any safe-tray drain for blockage.
Major Service Every 5 Years
AquaMAX recommends a major service by qualified personnel every five years, including replacement of the TPR valve, inspection of the ECV and anode, inspection of the heating unit and checks of the water-heater connections.
AquaMAX's current warranty states that a claim may be rejected where the recommended fifth-year major service was not arranged and the fault would have been detected and corrected during that service.
AquaMAX 315L Warranty
The commonly advertised 10-year cylinder warranty applies under specific AquaMAX warranty conditions and should not be interpreted as 10 years of full parts-and-labour coverage.
| Coverage | AquaMAX Warranty |
|---|---|
| All Components – All Installations | Year 1 – repair or replacement of the faulty component including labour |
| Cylinder – Qualifying Single-Family Domestic Dwelling | Years 2–10 – replacement cylinder supplied free of charge |
| Cylinder Installation / Repair Labour – Years 2–10 | Owner's responsibility |
AquaMAX's complete current warranty terms determine eligibility. Correct sizing, installation, servicing, water quality and anode selection can affect warranty coverage.

Tempering Valve and Element Information
*Element size information:
All electric hot water units are supplied as standard with a 3.6kW element unless otherwise stated on the product page, invoice, or order confirmation.
If a different element configuration is requested, such as 1.8kW or 2.4kW, the hot water unit may still arrive with the standard 3.6kW element fitted from the manufacturer. The requested 1.8kW or 2.4kW element will be supplied separately with the order for installation by a suitably licensed electrical contractor or licensed electrical licence holder.
Any element changeover, electrical connection, disconnection, wiring, testing, or modification must be carried out by a licensed electrical contractor or licensed electrical licence holder. Elements must not be changed, connected, modified, or tested by an unlicensed person.
Alternative elements supplied for non-standard configurations may be generic replacement elements and may not be the same brand as the hot water unit unless specifically stated. Generic elements are supplied to suit the requested element size and electrical configuration, but final suitability must be checked by the licensed installer before installation.
1.8kW and 2.4kW elements supplied separately with a hot water unit include a 12-month supply-only parts warranty from the date of purchase, provided the element has been correctly installed by a licensed electrical contractor or licensed electrical licence holder and used under normal operating conditions.
This element warranty covers the replacement supply of the element only. It does not include labour, call-out fees, electrical work, plumbing work, fault finding, removal, reinstallation, testing, travel, downtime, damage caused by incorrect installation, or any other associated costs. Warranty may be declined where the element has been incorrectly installed, dry-fired, modified, damaged, connected to incorrect voltage or wiring, affected by power issues, used in unsuitable water conditions, or installed by an unlicensed person.
Proof of purchase, installer details, electrical licence details, photos, and/or return of the faulty element may be required before a warranty claim is approved.
**Tempering valve information:
Where a hot water system is capable of delivering water above 50°C, a compliant tempering valve must be installed to control the temperature delivered to personal hygiene fixtures such as showers, baths, basins, and bathroom outlets. This helps reduce the risk of scalding and assists with meeting plumbing compliance requirements.
A tempering valve blends hot and cold water to deliver a safer controlled outlet temperature to required fixtures. The hot water unit itself may store water at a higher temperature, but the water delivered to personal hygiene outlets must be controlled where required by plumbing regulations.
If your property already has a suitable, compliant tempering valve installed, your licensed plumber can assess whether it is appropriate for use with the new hot water system. Existing valves may not always be suitable due to age, condition, compliance requirements, valve type, location, or system compatibility.
If a compliant tempering valve is not already installed, or if the existing valve is unsuitable, one must be supplied and installed by a licensed plumber as part of the hot water installation.
Tempering valves are not automatically included with every supply-only hot water unit unless specifically selected, listed as included, or purchased as part of a suitable valve kit. If a tempering valve is required, please purchase the appropriate valve kit with your order or arrange for your licensed installer to supply and install the correct tempering valve on site.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the installation is completed by appropriately licensed trades and that all required valves, fittings, electrical work, plumbing work, and compliance requirements are allowed for as part of the installation.
