Dux Proflo 125L Electric Hot Water System – 125T1
The Dux Proflo 125L Electric Hot Water System is an Australian-made electric storage water heater designed for smaller households wanting dependable stored hot water at full mains pressure.
The current Dux 125T1 is available with 1.8kW and 3.6kW element configurations. Dux's current technical information lists an actual storage capacity of 130 litres and a rated hot-water delivery of 125 litres.
Installed Today offers the Dux Proflo 125L as a supply-only water heater or with supply and installation across eligible Brisbane and Gold Coast service areas.
About the Dux Proflo 125L Electric Hot Water System
The Proflo 125L stores electrically heated water ready for everyday household use. It forms part of Dux's large Proflo electric storage range, designed as a straightforward replacement option for conventional electric storage water heaters.
The standard 125T1 sits between the 80L and 160L Proflo models and offers a more compact overall height than the 160L while still providing a substantial 125L rated hot-water delivery.
Dux's current product page lists the 125L model for approximately 2–3 people. Actual suitability depends on shower length, household routines, appliances, electricity tariff and how frequently the tank can reheat.
Who Is the Dux Proflo 125L Best For?
Smaller Households
The 125L capacity can suit couples and smaller households where daily hot-water demand remains moderate and the electricity tariff suits the available storage.
Electric Storage Replacements
Water connections on both sides of the cylinder provide additional flexibility when replacing an existing electric storage system.
Units, Townhouses & Smaller Homes
The shorter standard 125T1 can suit applications where a full mains-pressure storage system is required without moving to a taller 160L cylinder.
Dux Proflo 125L Key Details
*Dux specifies a 10-year tank warranty for qualifying single-family dwelling installations. Other applications receive different tank warranty coverage. Full Dux warranty conditions apply.
Dux Proflo 125T1 – 1.8kW or 3.6kW
1.8kW Element Option
The 1.8kW configuration places a lower instantaneous electrical load on the circuit but reheats the stored water more slowly than the 3.6kW option.
3.6kW Element Option
The 3.6kW configuration provides faster recovery, subject to the property's fixed electrical circuit, tariff and installation being suitable.
Confirm the exact 125T1 element configuration before ordering. Element size affects electrical load and recovery time.
Is the Dux Proflo 125L Right for Your Household?
Dux's current product page lists the Proflo 125L for approximately 2–3 people. Dux's January 2026 range guide provides a separate tariff-based sizing chart and shows the 125L size for up to approximately 4 usage equivalents on a continuous tariff.
Dux explains that a person symbol in its sizing guide can also represent usage from a dishwasher or washing machine. The same current guide does not publish an off-peak household rating for the 125L model.
This means the electricity tariff matters. A continuous tariff can allow reheating throughout the day, while off-peak electricity generally provides power for a limited overnight period.
Continuous Tariff
Dux's current range guide shows the 125L size with up to four usage equivalents where power is available for reheating throughout the day and night.
Off-Peak Tariff
Dux does not publish an off-peak people rating for the 125L in its January 2026 sizing table. Suitability should therefore be checked rather than assumed.
Usage Still Matters
Long showers, baths, high-flow fixtures and hot-water appliances can materially change the storage capacity a household requires.

Can the Dux Proflo 125L Be Installed Indoors or Outdoors?
Yes. Dux lists the Proflo 125L for indoor or outdoor installation.
The water heater must be installed on a flat, solid supporting surface, and Dux states that the pipework must not be used to support the cylinder.
For indoor installations, an appropriately drained safe tray is required where water leakage could otherwise cause property damage.
What Is Required to Install the Dux Proflo 125L?
Dux states that its Proflo electric storage water heater must be installed by a licensed tradesperson and in accordance with applicable plumbing, electrical and local authority requirements.
- Flat, solid supporting surface
- Compatible hot and cold water pipework
- Correct 1400 kPa PTR valve arrangement
- Suitable isolation and non-return valve arrangement

Dux Proflo 125L Water Pressure Requirements
Dux's current January 2026 technical information lists a 1400 kPa PTR valve pressure for the 125T1.
The same current product guide lists a maximum inlet pressure of 1120 kPa.
The final valve arrangement still needs to comply with the manufacturer's installation instructions and applicable plumbing regulations. Appropriate pressure control must be fitted where required by the site conditions.
Full Mains-Pressure Hot Water
Dux specifies full flow pressure to all outlets for the Proflo large electric storage range.
This makes the Proflo 125L useful as a conventional replacement for an existing mains-pressure storage heater where the household's hot-water demand and electricity tariff suit the tank size.
Actual outlet performance also depends on incoming water pressure, valves, pipe sizing and the property's plumbing layout.
50mm Dense Foam Insulation
Dux specifies 50mm thick dense foam insulation for the 80L–400L Proflo electric storage range.
The insulation helps reduce heat loss from stored water between heating cycles. Actual electricity consumption still depends on household usage, thermostat operation, climate, element size and electricity tariff.
Is There a Hard-Water Option?
Yes. Dux lists a hard-water option for the Proflo 125L.
Dux's official replacement-anode guide lists separate anode options for average-to-hard and extremely hard water conditions for the 125T1.
Where local water chemistry is unusual or aggressive, the correct anode specification and servicing requirements should be confirmed before installation.

Dux Proflo 125L Maintenance
Dux recommends regular servicing to help extend the life of the water heater and maintain safe and efficient operation.
The current owner's manual specifies a six-month service check where the PTR valve easing lever is operated for approximately 10 seconds and the expansion-control valve is also checked where one is fitted.
Dux recommends a five-year service by a licensed tradesperson. Where Total Dissolved Solids exceed 600 mg/L, Dux recommends this service every 3 years.
The major service includes replacing the PTR valve and sacrificial anode, inspecting and flushing the expansion-control valve where fitted, draining and flushing the tank and inspecting relevant electrical components.
Dux Proflo 125L Warranty
Dux warranty coverage depends on the type of application in which the water heater is installed.
| Application | Tank Warranty | Parts & Labour |
|---|---|---|
| Single Family Dwelling | 10 years | 1 year |
| All Other Applications | 3 years | 1 year |
Dux states that the warranty period begins from the installation date where proof is available. Where proof of installation date is unavailable, the manufacturing date shown on the compliance plate is used.
The 10-year tank warranty should not automatically be applied to commercial, multi-residential or other non-single-family applications. Dux's complete warranty terms determine coverage.

Tempering Valve and Element Information
*Element size information:
All electric hot water units are supplied as standard with a 3.6kW element unless otherwise stated on the product page, invoice, or order confirmation.
If a different element configuration is requested, such as 1.8kW or 2.4kW, the hot water unit may still arrive with the standard 3.6kW element fitted from the manufacturer. The requested 1.8kW or 2.4kW element will be supplied separately with the order for installation by a suitably licensed electrical contractor or licensed electrical licence holder.
Any element changeover, electrical connection, disconnection, wiring, testing, or modification must be carried out by a licensed electrical contractor or licensed electrical licence holder. Elements must not be changed, connected, modified, or tested by an unlicensed person.
Alternative elements supplied for non-standard configurations may be generic replacement elements and may not be the same brand as the hot water unit unless specifically stated. Generic elements are supplied to suit the requested element size and electrical configuration, but final suitability must be checked by the licensed installer before installation.
1.8kW and 2.4kW elements supplied separately with a hot water unit include a 12-month supply-only parts warranty from the date of purchase, provided the element has been correctly installed by a licensed electrical contractor or licensed electrical licence holder and used under normal operating conditions.
This element warranty covers the replacement supply of the element only. It does not include labour, call-out fees, electrical work, plumbing work, fault finding, removal, reinstallation, testing, travel, downtime, damage caused by incorrect installation, or any other associated costs. Warranty may be declined where the element has been incorrectly installed, dry-fired, modified, damaged, connected to incorrect voltage or wiring, affected by power issues, used in unsuitable water conditions, or installed by an unlicensed person.
Proof of purchase, installer details, electrical licence details, photos, and/or return of the faulty element may be required before a warranty claim is approved.
**Tempering valve information:
Where a hot water system is capable of delivering water above 50°C, a compliant tempering valve must be installed to control the temperature delivered to personal hygiene fixtures such as showers, baths, basins, and bathroom outlets. This helps reduce the risk of scalding and assists with meeting plumbing compliance requirements.
A tempering valve blends hot and cold water to deliver a safer controlled outlet temperature to required fixtures. The hot water unit itself may store water at a higher temperature, but the water delivered to personal hygiene outlets must be controlled where required by plumbing regulations.
If your property already has a suitable, compliant tempering valve installed, your licensed plumber can assess whether it is appropriate for use with the new hot water system. Existing valves may not always be suitable due to age, condition, compliance requirements, valve type, location, or system compatibility.
If a compliant tempering valve is not already installed, or if the existing valve is unsuitable, one must be supplied and installed by a licensed plumber as part of the hot water installation.
Tempering valves are not automatically included with every supply-only hot water unit unless specifically selected, listed as included, or purchased as part of a suitable valve kit. If a tempering valve is required, please purchase the appropriate valve kit with your order or arrange for your licensed installer to supply and install the correct tempering valve on site.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the installation is completed by appropriately licensed trades and that all required valves, fittings, electrical work, plumbing work, and compliance requirements are allowed for as part of the installation.
