RINNAI LPG CONTINUOUS FLOW HOT WATER

Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG Continuous Flow Hot Water System

The Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG Continuous Flow Hot Water System is a high-capacity external gas water heater designed for homes using LPG and wanting strong on-demand hot water performance without a storage cylinder.

Installed Today offers the Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG as a supply-only continuous flow hot water unit, with supply and installation options available across eligible Brisbane and Gold Coast service areas, where available.

Key features include a 26 L/min flow rate, 6.0 Star Equivalent Energy Rating, Puretemp™ temperature stability technology, compact outdoor wall-mounted design, optional controller compatibility and a Rinnai-listed 25-year extended heat exchanger warranty subject to scheduled servicing and warranty terms.

Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG at a glance: this is an external LPG continuous flow hot water system with a listed 26 L/min flow rate, 6.0 Star Equivalent Energy Rating and compact wall-mounted design. The supplied information positions it for around 2 bathroom homes and potentially 1 to 3 shower outlets in warmer climates, depending on incoming water temperature, fixture flow rates, LPG supply and simultaneous hot water demand.
WHAT IT DOES

What Does the Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG Do?

The Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG heats water as it passes through the appliance rather than storing hot water in a tank.

When a hot tap is opened and the required operating conditions are met, the unit heats water on demand using LPG. This removes the need for a storage cylinder and provides ongoing hot water while suitable gas supply, water flow and electrical power are available.

WHO IT SUITS

Who Is the Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG Best For?

2 Bathroom Homes

The supplied information positions the B26 as generally suitable for 2 bathroom homes, with final suitability depending on simultaneous outlet use, incoming water temperature and fixture flow rates.

Homes Using LPG

This model is specifically for LPG applications and may suit properties using bottled LPG or other compatible LPG infrastructure.

Customers Wanting No Storage Tank

The compact wall-mounted design suits customers wanting continuous flow hot water without a large storage cylinder occupying ground space.

WHO IT HELPS

What Problems Can the Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG Help Solve?

Smaller Continuous Flow Unit Too Limited

The 26 L/min B26 provides greater flow capacity than smaller continuous flow models such as the B20 and may better suit stronger household demand.

No Space for a Storage Tank

The B26 mounts externally on a wall, removing the need for a large floor-mounted hot water cylinder.

Need for On-Demand Hot Water

Because the system heats water as required, there is no stored tank capacity to deplete and recover in the same way as a storage water heater.

PRODUCT SUITABILITY

Is the Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG Right for My Home?

A Good Choice If...

You need an LPG continuous flow system, have suitable outdoor wall space, want a 26 L/min model and have LPG supply, water pressure and electrical access suitable for the appliance.

Consider Another Option If...

Your property uses natural gas rather than LPG, the unit needs to be installed indoors, or your household requires greater simultaneous hot water flow than the B26 can provide.

Check Before Ordering

Confirm gas type, LPG regulator and bottle setup, gas pipe sizing, water pressure, outdoor mounting location, clearances, power supply, plumbing connections and expected simultaneous outlet demand.

LPG MODEL

This Product Is for LPG

This page is for the LPG version of the Rinnai Infinity B26.

LPG and natural gas appliances are not interchangeable. The correct appliance must be selected for the property's gas supply.

The LPG version may suit homes using bottled LPG, acreage properties, granny flats, secondary dwellings and homes replacing an existing external LPG continuous flow system, subject to installation requirements.

HOW IT WORKS

How Does the Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG Work?

1. Hot Tap Opens

Water begins flowing through the appliance when a connected hot water outlet is opened.

2. Burner Heats on Demand

The LPG burner heats the water as it passes through the heat exchanger rather than heating and storing a full tank.

3. Hot Water Continues

Hot water continues while suitable LPG supply, water flow and electrical power remain available and demand stays within the unit's operating capacity.

CONTINUOUS FLOW PERFORMANCE

What Does 26 L/min Mean?

The Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG is listed with a 26 L/min flow rate.

Continuous flow performance depends on the temperature rise the system needs to achieve, incoming water temperature, selected outlet temperature, fixture flow rates, LPG supply and how many outlets are operating at the same time.

The supplied information positions the B26 as generally suitable for 2 bathroom homes and potentially 1 to 3 shower outlets in warmer climates, subject to actual conditions.

NO STORAGE TANK

Does the Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG Store Hot Water?

No. The B26 is a continuous flow system and does not use a hot water storage cylinder.

Water is heated as required when a hot tap is opened. This can save installation space and means there is no fixed tank volume to deplete before the system reheats.

The appliance still needs to be correctly sized because simultaneous hot water demand can exceed the available flow capacity.

ENERGY PERFORMANCE

How Efficient Is the Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG?

The supplied product information lists the Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG with a 6.0 Star Equivalent Energy Rating.

Continuous flow systems heat water when required rather than maintaining a tank of stored hot water, which can reduce standby heat losses compared with many storage systems.

Actual running costs depend on LPG pricing, household usage, incoming water temperature, selected outlet temperature, fixture flow rates and installation conditions.

PURETEMP™

What Is Puretemp™ Temperature Stability Technology?

Rinnai's Puretemp™ temperature stability technology is designed to support more consistent hot water temperatures during normal operation.

Final performance still depends on water flow, LPG supply, incoming water temperature, plumbing configuration, fixture demand and correct installation.

OUTDOOR INSTALLATION

Can the Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG Be Installed Indoors?

No. The supplied information identifies this B26 as an external / outdoor model.

It should not be installed internally unless a manufacturer-approved internal or flued model designed for that purpose is selected instead.

Outdoor installation must still meet applicable wall mounting, gas, plumbing, electrical, flue terminal, clearance, access and drainage requirements.

WATER PRESSURE

Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG Water Pressure Requirements

The supplied specifications list a minimum water pressure of 200 kPa and a maximum water pressure of 1000 kPa.

The minimum operating water flow is listed as 1.5 L/min.

If water pressure is too low, the unit may not operate as intended. If water pressure is too high, pressure control may be required as part of the installation.

LPG SUPPLY

Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG Gas Supply Requirements

The supplied specifications list an LPG gas rate of 16–199 MJ/h.

The LPG bottle arrangement, regulator, gas pipe sizing and available gas supply must be capable of supporting the appliance.

A licensed gas fitter should assess the existing LPG setup before installation, particularly when replacing a smaller gas appliance or relocating the hot water system.

ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENT

Does the Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG Need Electricity?

Yes. The Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG requires electrical power for operation and has a listed electrical consumption of 68 W.

The selected outdoor installation position therefore needs suitable electrical access. Any electrical alterations required for the installation are separate unless expressly included in the selected installation package.

OPTIONAL CONTROLLERS

Can Rinnai Hot Water Controllers Be Added?

Yes. The supplied product information states that the Infinity B26 LPG is compatible with selected optional Rinnai hot water controllers.

Controllers can provide additional temperature control and convenience where compatible, but they are not included unless selected separately.

ACCESSORIES

What Accessories Can Be Used With the Rinnai Infinity B26?

Pipe Covers

Selected Rinnai pipe covers may be compatible where a cleaner finish around exposed services is wanted.

Recess Boxes

Selected recess boxes may be available for suitable installations where the appliance is to be recessed into an external wall arrangement.

Security Brackets

Selected security brackets may be compatible where additional protection against unauthorised removal is required.

Accessories are not included unless selected separately and compatibility should be confirmed before purchase.

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

What Is Required to Install the Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG?

  • Confirmed LPG gas supply
  • Suitable LPG bottle and regulator setup
  • Gas pipe sizing suitable for the appliance demand
  • External wall mounting position
  • Required appliance and flue terminal clearances
  • Minimum 200 kPa water pressure
  • Water pressure control where required
  • Compatible hot and cold water pipework
  • Suitable valve arrangement
  • Electrical supply suitable for the unit
  • Adequate service access
  • Compliance with applicable gas, plumbing and electrical requirements
REPLACEMENT & UPGRADES

Can the Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG Replace My Existing Hot Water System?

The B26 LPG may be a suitable replacement for an existing external LPG continuous flow hot water system where the gas supply, pipe sizing, water pressure, wall position, electrical supply and clearances are compatible.

A changeover should not automatically be assumed to be like-for-like. Larger continuous flow units can have different gas demand, connection, power and clearance requirements.

Replacing a Smaller Continuous Flow Unit

Moving from a smaller model to the B26 may provide increased hot water flow capacity, but the existing LPG regulator and gas pipework should be checked to ensure they can support the higher appliance demand.

Relocating the Unit

Relocating the hot water system can require additional gas pipework, water pipework, electrical work, mounting changes, drainage and compliance work.

COMPARE YOUR OPTIONS

Rinnai Infinity B20 vs B26 LPG

Feature Rinnai Infinity B20 LPG Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG
Relative Flow Capacity Lower Higher
B26 Listed Flow Rate — 26 L/min
Typical Application Smaller homes or lower hot water demand 2 bathroom homes or stronger hot water demand
Main Reason to Consider Lower-demand continuous flow application Greater flow capacity for stronger household demand

The right model depends on bathroom count, shower flow rates, incoming water temperature, number of users, LPG supply and whether multiple outlets operate simultaneously.

EXTERNAL VS INTERNAL

Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG vs INF28 Internal

The Infinity B26 LPG described here is an external continuous flow model designed for outdoor installation.

The INF28 Internal is a different model type intended for internal applications where a manufacturer-approved internal or flued appliance is required.

Do not use the external B26 for an internal installation. Select the correct internal or flued model when the appliance must be installed indoors.

FINAL CHECK

Is the Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG Right for You?

The Rinnai Infinity B26 LPG Continuous Flow Hot Water System is primarily suited to properties using LPG that want a higher-capacity external continuous flow water heater with a compact wall-mounted design, 26 L/min listed flow rate and 6.0 Star Equivalent Energy Rating.

Before ordering, confirm that the property uses LPG rather than natural gas, the unit will be installed outdoors, and the LPG regulator, bottle setup, gas pipe sizing, water pressure, electrical supply, wall position, clearances and household flow requirements are suitable. Choose supply only if licensed trades are already arranged, or select an eligible Brisbane or Gold Coast supply and installation option where available.

Tempering valve information:
Where a hot water system is capable of delivering water above 50°C, a compliant tempering valve must be installed to control the temperature delivered to personal hygiene fixtures such as showers, baths, basins, and bathroom outlets. This helps reduce the risk of scalding and assists with meeting plumbing compliance requirements.

A tempering valve blends hot and cold water to deliver a safer controlled outlet temperature to required fixtures. The hot water unit itself may store water at a higher temperature, but the water delivered to personal hygiene outlets must be controlled where required by plumbing regulations.

If your property already has a suitable, compliant tempering valve installed, your licensed plumber can assess whether it is appropriate for use with the new hot water system. Existing valves may not always be suitable due to age, condition, compliance requirements, valve type, location, or system compatibility.

If a compliant tempering valve is not already installed, or if the existing valve is unsuitable, one must be supplied and installed by a licensed plumber as part of the hot water installation.

Tempering valves are not automatically included with every supply-only hot water unit unless specifically selected, listed as included, or purchased as part of a suitable valve kit. If a tempering valve is required, please purchase the appropriate valve kit with your order or arrange for your licensed installer to supply and install the correct tempering valve on site.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the installation is completed by appropriately licensed trades and that all required valves, fittings, electrical work, plumbing work, and compliance requirements are allowed for as part of the installation.
