WHAT IT DOES

What Does the Stiebel Eltron SHP-O 200 Plus Do?

The SHP-O 200 Plus uses heat from the surrounding air to heat water stored inside its 200L cylinder.

Rather than relying primarily on direct electric resistance heating, the refrigeration cycle absorbs heat from ambient air and transfers that energy into the stored water. This allows the heat pump to provide domestic hot water while reducing reliance on conventional electric element heating during normal operation.

An integrated 1.5 kW auxiliary heater provides additional heating support when required by the system, including during higher-demand or colder operating conditions.

ENERGY PERFORMANCE

How Efficient Is the SHP-O 200 Plus?

The SHP-O 200 Plus has a published COP of 4.27 under EN16147 / A20 testing.

COP compares useful heat output with the electrical energy used under controlled test conditions. A COP above 4 means the heat pump transferred substantially more heat energy into the water than the electrical energy consumed during that particular laboratory test.

Real-world electricity use varies with ambient temperature, incoming water temperature, household demand, system settings, installation conditions and how often the auxiliary heater operates.

R290 REFRIGERANT

What Refrigerant Does the SHP-O 200 Plus Use?

The SHP-O 200 Plus uses 152 grams of R290 refrigerant, with a listed global warming potential of 0.02.

R290 is a flammable refrigerant, so refrigeration-related work needs to be carried out by appropriately qualified contractors. Normal licensed plumbing and electrical installation requirements also apply.

SMART CONTROL

Does the SHP-O 200 Plus Have App Control?

Yes. The SHP-O 200 Plus can connect to the MyStiebel App for compatible monitoring and control.

App functionality can help manage hot water settings, timer operation and boost functions around household routines, suitable tariff periods or available solar generation.

App functionality depends on compatible devices and suitable network connectivity.

SOLAR PV

Can the SHP-O 200 Plus Work With Solar PV?

Yes. The SHP-O 200 Plus is SG Ready and designed for integration with suitable solar PV arrangements.

This can help households make greater use of self-generated daytime electricity for water heating where the solar system, electrical configuration and household routine are suitable.

ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS

Only a 10A Connection Is Required

The SHP-O 200 Plus operates from a 1/N/PE 220–240 V 50 Hz supply and has a listed maximum operating current of 9.88 amps.

The product information specifies a 10A electrical connection requirement.

The property's existing electrical setup should still be checked before installation. Power-point work, circuit alterations or compliance upgrades may be required depending on the existing installation and final unit position.

AUXILIARY HEATING

What Does the 1.5 kW Auxiliary Heater Do?

The SHP-O 200 Plus includes a 1.5 kW auxiliary electric heater.

The heat pump remains the primary heating method during normal operation, while the auxiliary heater can provide additional recovery when required by operating conditions or household demand.

The auxiliary element should not be treated as the primary efficiency feature of the system.

Tempering valve information:
Where a hot water system is capable of delivering water above 50°C, a compliant tempering valve must be installed to control the temperature delivered to personal hygiene fixtures such as showers, baths, basins, and bathroom outlets. This helps reduce the risk of scalding and assists with meeting plumbing compliance requirements.

A tempering valve blends hot and cold water to deliver a safer controlled outlet temperature to required fixtures. The hot water unit itself may store water at a higher temperature, but the water delivered to personal hygiene outlets must be controlled where required by plumbing regulations.

If your property already has a suitable, compliant tempering valve installed, your licensed plumber can assess whether it is appropriate for use with the new hot water system. Existing valves may not always be suitable due to age, condition, compliance requirements, valve type, location, or system compatibility.

If a compliant tempering valve is not already installed, or if the existing valve is unsuitable, one must be supplied and installed by a licensed plumber as part of the hot water installation.

Tempering valves are not automatically included with every supply-only hot water unit unless specifically selected, listed as included, or purchased as part of a suitable valve kit. If a tempering valve is required, please purchase the appropriate valve kit with your order or arrange for your licensed installer to supply and install the correct tempering valve on site.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the installation is completed by appropriately licensed trades and that all required valves, fittings, electrical work, plumbing work, and compliance requirements are allowed for as part of the installation.
