INSTALLATION & DELIVERY ACCESS ADD-ON
Additional Two-Person Handling & Difficult Access Add-On
This is an additional access and handling charge for hot water installations or difficult supply-only deliveries where the unit cannot be safely moved into position by one person.
This item is not available for individual purchase. It must be added to an eligible pre-purchased installation package or approved difficult-access supply-only delivery.
The add-on applies where site access requires an additional person to safely assist with moving or positioning the hot water system within the limits listed below.
Quick answer: add this option where access to the installation or delivery position involves stairs, steep driveways, under-building access, limited-height retaining walls, non-ground-floor locations or another situation where the unit cannot be safely handled by one person. The unit must still be able to travel from the vehicle to the final position by hand trolley without being carried.
WHEN IT APPLIES
When Is Additional Two-Person Handling Required?
This add-on applies where one or more of the following access conditions are present and the installation or delivery cannot be safely completed by a single person.
- Stairs
- Steep driveways
- Under-building access
- Installation above ground-floor level
- Access over retaining walls up to 400mm high
- Units requiring limited lifting into final position
- Internal building access for eligible Rheem Stellar installations
- Ceiling access for eligible Rheem Stellar installations
HANDLING LIMITS
What Are the Maximum Manual Handling Limits?
Maximum Lift Height
Where the hot water unit needs to be lifted into its final position, the maximum permitted lift height under this add-on is 500mm.
Maximum Unit Weight
The maximum unit weight for a lift into position under this add-on is 80kg.
Retaining Walls
Access over retaining walls is limited to a maximum retaining-wall height of 400mm.
This add-on does not cover unrestricted lifting or carrying. Sites exceeding the stated height, weight or access limits may require a different handling method, specialist equipment or an alternative installation arrangement.
TROLLEY ACCESS
The Unit Must Be Movable by Hand Trolley
The hot water unit must be capable of being moved by hand trolley from the delivery vehicle to the installation position.
The unit must not require manual carrying for the full access route.
A minimum continuous access width of approximately 1 metre is required along the route to the installation position, excluding normal doorway restrictions.
Check the entire access path before ordering. Narrow side paths, gates, landscaping, steps, sharp corners, retaining walls and restricted internal areas can prevent safe trolley access even where the final installation area itself is suitable.
RHEEM STELLAR INSTALLATIONS
Special Access Conditions for Rheem Stellar Installations
Two access conditions within this add-on are specifically limited to eligible Rheem Stellar installations.
Through Homes or Building Interiors
Internal transport through the home or other building areas is covered only where specifically applicable to the Rheem Stellar installation pathway.
Ceiling Access
Ceiling-related access is also limited to applicable Rheem Stellar installations and is not a general inclusion for all hot water products.
NON-GROUND-FLOOR ACCESS
What About Installations Above Ground Level?
This add-on should be selected where the hot water system is being installed somewhere other than the ground floor and the additional access remains within the stated handling limits.
The site must still allow safe trolley movement and safe positioning of the unit without exceeding the permitted lifting height, weight or retaining-wall limits.
Multi-storey access that requires specialised lifting equipment, crane work or carrying outside these limits is not automatically covered by this add-on.
SUPPLY-ONLY DELIVERIES
Can This Add-On Be Used for a Supply-Only Order?
Yes, but only for an approved difficult-access supply-only delivery.
The same access requirements apply. The unit must be able to move safely from the delivery vehicle to the agreed delivery position by hand trolley without requiring unsupported manual carrying.
This add-on is not a standalone freight product and cannot be purchased separately from an eligible hot water system order.
IMPORTANT ACCESS RULE
Not All Difficult Access Is Covered
This add-on provides an additional person for approved difficult-access handling. It does not convert an otherwise inaccessible site into a standard installation.
The route must remain suitable for safe manual handling and trolley access, and the job must remain within the stated 80kg unit weight, 500mm lift height and 400mm retaining-wall limits.
If the unit cannot be safely manoeuvred within these conditions, further assessment or a different installation method may be required.
BEFORE YOU ADD THIS OPTION
Check the Access Route From the Vehicle to the Final Position
- Can a hand trolley travel the full access route?
- Is approximately 1m of route width available outside doorways?
- Are there stairs?
- Is the driveway steep?
- Does the route pass under a building?
- Is the final position above ground-floor level?
- Is there a retaining wall no higher than 400mm?
- Does the final position require a lift no higher than 500mm?
- Is the unit being lifted 80kg or less?
- For internal or ceiling access, is this an eligible Rheem Stellar installation?

FINAL CHECK
Do You Need This Difficult Access Add-On?

The unit must still be able to travel from the vehicle to the installation position by hand trolley without being carried, with approximately 1 metre of access width outside doorways.
Where lifting is required, the service is limited to a maximum 500mm lift height and 80kg unit weight. Retaining walls are limited to 400mm high. Internal-building and ceiling access under this add-on are restricted to eligible Rheem Stellar installations.
